·     The carpools will leave Tacoma at 9:35 a.m. for Gig Harbor.
·     If you plan to attend but won’t be at the Park and Ride (e.g. you’re driving from Gig Harbor) please email Christine Anderson for the instructions.
·     To help us know how many TGC members will be coming, please register on the TGC website by Thursday, April 28th.
·     This is a free event without a participant limit.
·     Dress for the weather as we will be outside.

Tacoma Garden Club members have been invited for a tour of a newly established flower farm in Gig Harbor. We will learn about how owner Kit Severson became interested in growing flowers, how she began this new adventure, how she is developing and growing her business, her plans for the future, and about the importance of the Slow Flower movement. Although we will not see a lot of flowers because it is so early in the season, we will get to explore her newly planted fields.

In addition to visiting Kit’s Pine Knoll Flower Farm, she has invited us to walk across the street to see her personal garden. This special garden was originally planted by her mother, architect and landscaper Mary Davis. Mary was an active member of Tacoma GC.  This delightful garden, watched over by Mary’s purple horse, was documented many years ago for the Smithsonian by Tacoma GC members.
