Point Defiance Zoo Botanical Garden Tour

The Point Defiance Zoo is a great place to see animals, but it’s also a botanical garden with a diverse array of plants from all over the world. These plants are an essential part of the Zoo community: they recreate habitats for the animals and can even be used to provide them with leafy enrichment.

On this tour, you’ll spend time getting to know the Zoo’s more rooted residents with a member of the Zoo’s horticulture team. Our guide will introduce us to some of the fascinating adaptations that help plants thrive in different habitats. We’ll learn about the ways the Zoo’s horticulture team works to recreate these habitats so that they can successfully grow unusual plants from around the world right here in Tacoma!

Meet at Point Defiance Zoo entrance (garden club members only, please). After the tour, meet at 12:15 at Anthony’s at Point Defiance if interested in having lunch.
