The city of Tacoma has the advantage of a deep water harbor, a busy port with close proximity to Mount Rainier National Park and the Cascade range. Tacoma is located approximately 40 miles south of Seattle.
Although Tacoma is situated at a northern latitude the climate is moderated by its proximity to the Pacific ocean as it flows into Puget Sound. Gardens flourish in abundant rain, adequate sunshine and mild temperatures. It has been said that our climate approximates that of Great Britain.
